First of all, I want to apologize for the way this site looks. It’s gotten really ugly lately, and even though I keep coming here looking for something neat to do with it, I have neither the attention span to sit down and devote enough time to managing it, nor the money to pay someone with better graphics and web development skills to take care of it for me.
Secondly, I hate snow. The older I get, the more I hate it.
It snowed last night, and even though it was only 4 inches, it’s still a pain in the ass. The meteorologists were calling for somewhere between 5 and 11 inches overnight, but when Kel and I woke up this morning, we chuckled because, in our northerners’ Continue reading . . .
Happy New Year, one and all! I just had a quick, light dinner, and as soon as it digests, I’m gonna drink champagne and say goodbye to 2009. It wasn’t a bad year, all things considered, but I am looking forward to 2010.
Wow, 2010. It looks weird to write that. Remember a decade ago, three quarters of the world was frantic with the idea that the planet might be obliterated because of the Y2K computer issue? It seems like it was only a few years ago, not a whole decade.

3. When do you put up the tree? Whenever I find the time between Thanksgiving and the first week or two in December.
4. When do you take the tree down? Sometime in the first week or so of January, whenever I have the energy to do it all at once so I don’t leave a big mess laying around.
5. Do Continue reading . . .

He’s been listening to the Avett Brothers and a couple of other new country-folk bands, and he’s really been interested in getting a banjo to pluck away at. He found one at Penney’s, which worked out well for us, because our finances suck and if it doesn’t come from QVC or Penney’s, we can’t really afford to buy it.
He got the email confirmation and it said that it wouldn’t be shipped until the 26th of the month, but, surprise, surprise, the UPS man showed up yesterday at 5:15 to drop off this huge package.
Kel was so excited when he got home. It was like he was a kid at Christmas, which, given the fact Continue reading . . .
